Karen E. Tietz

In 1983, Karen graduated cum laude from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law.

In 1979, Karen graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University with degrees in Political Science & Business Administration.

Karen has been an attorney since 1983. She started her private practice in 2004. Before that Karen focused on business law as an officer in a corporation where she negotiated Fortune 500 contracts (leasing, franchising, and sales agreements).

Prior to that Karen managed a large staff of attorneys for a governmental entity where she was admitted to practice in the:

  • United States Supreme Court
  • 7th Circuit Court of Appeals
  • US District Court, Northern District of Illinois
  • Illinois Supreme Court

Karen has a strong background in contract negotiation and settlement. She also advises businesses of all sizes in sales and marketing strategies, accounts receivable, and other corporate business issues.

Karen is the past president of her homeowners' association, Silver Glen Estates, and the firm represents several homeowner's associations in Illinois.

Karen is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Kane County Bar Association, a member of the ISBA Real Estate Law Section, and an active member of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce.

Mary L. Watts

After graduation from William Rainey Harper College, Mary began her internship as a paralegal with a Glenview law firm in 1980.

After taking time out of the workforce to raise her three children she worked as an administrative assistant at a non-profit organization. In May, 2004, Mary joined the law firm of Karen E. Tietz as a paralegal--recruited after working with Karen on a committee for the not profit organization.
